Siblings, Family & Peer Support by Lived Experience
Supporting the whole family through loss — because grief touches everyone, and everyone deserves to be held.
The Whole Family Grieves
When a baby is lost, the grief doesn't belong only to the parents. Brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles — everyone who anticipated that little life feels the weight of the loss in their own way.
At Baby Loss Retreat, we believe that every member of the family deserves support. Loss changes the entire family system, and healing happens best when everyone is held with care.
Supporting Extended Family
Grandparents grieve a grandchild and also the pain of their own child. Friends don't know what to say. Extended family members may feel helpless or say the wrong thing — not out of cruelty, but out of not knowing how to help.
Baby Loss Retreat offers guidance and resources for the wider family circle — helping loved ones understand how to show up for bereaved parents, what to say and what not to say, and how to process their own grief alongside supporting others.
Peer Support — Face to Face
Peer support for bereaved families following baby loss involves connecting parents with others who have experienced a similar loss. It provides a safe, understanding space to share feelings, experiences and memories, helping families feel less alone and supported by people who truly understand what they are going through.
Whether over a cup of tea, a shared walk, or a quiet conversation, these gatherings offer the chance to connect with people who truly 'get it'. You can share as much or as little as you wish, listen to others, or just be present — there is no pressure and no expectation.
Face-to-face peer support runs alongside our counselling and retreat services, helping to reduce isolation and build lasting connections within a community that understands the journey of baby loss.
Finding Connection Together
Our retreat breaks and group events are designed to welcome the whole family. We believe that shared time in a peaceful, understanding environment can help families reconnect with each other and with the memory of the baby they love.
Whether it is a quiet walk in beautiful Scottish countryside, a creative memory-making activity, or simply sitting together without needing to explain — we create space for families to be together in their grief without pressure or expectation.
No family should face this alone. Baby Loss Retreat is here for all of you.
