Honoured to Be Named Champion of Women

I am incredibly proud and deeply honoured to have won the Champion of Women Award with Scottish Women in Business.

Receiving this recognition means so much to me, not simply as an award, but because of what it represents.

Through our baby loss retreat charity, I have the privilege of supporting bereaved families as they navigate the unimaginable heartbreak of losing their baby. Baby loss can leave families facing a grief that is difficult to put into words, and no parent should feel that they have to walk that road alone.

Our retreat was created to provide a safe, compassionate space where bereaved families can step away from everyday life, take time to grieve, begin to process what they have experienced and feel supported by people who understand that their baby will always be an important part of their family.

For women in particular, baby loss can bring so many layers of grief. Alongside the loss of their baby, there can be physical recovery, emotional trauma, isolation and the pressure to somehow return to "normal" when their world has completely changed.

That is why being named Champion of Women feels especially meaningful.

To me, championing women means standing beside them during the moments when they need someone most. It means listening without judgement, creating space for their voices and experiences, and reminding them that their grief matters and their babies matter.

Although my name may be attached to this award, the work we do is about every family who has trusted us with their story. Their courage, love for their babies and determination to keep going are at the heart of everything we do.

I am incredibly grateful to Scottish Women in Business for this recognition and to everyone who has supported our charity, believed in our work, volunteered, donated, shared our message or helped a bereaved family find their way to us.

Most importantly, this award is for the families we support and for every baby who is loved, remembered and deeply missed.

Winning Champion of Women gives me even more determination to continue raising awareness of baby loss, breaking the silence surrounding grief and ensuring that bereaved families know that support is there when they need it.

There is still so much more we want to do.

And I will continue to champion women, bereaved parents and their precious babies every step of the way.
